Power Stow Founder Martin Vestergaard Honoured with Lifetime Achievement Award
Power Stow is proud to announce that company founder Martin Vestergaard has received the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of his long-standing commitment and significant contributions to the ground handling industry.
The award was presented at the Pride of Ground Handling Awards during Ground Handling International’s 26th Annual Conference in Amsterdam. This honour celebrates individuals who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to safety, innovation, service quality, and industry advancement throughout their careers.
Martin has dedicated most of his professional career to the Ground Support Equipment (GSE) industry, with experience spanning about 50 years. His philosophy blends persistence, humility, and a lifelong passion for aviation and engineering. Beginning his career at Vestergaard Company before founding Power Stow in 2003, Martin has always believed that innovation must serve people and move the industry forward. He is driven by close relationships with customers, focusing on solving their challenges and anticipating future needs. Creating solutions that improve working conditions while enhancing efficiency and supporting long-term progress across the industry has always been his mission.
The judges stated: “Martin Vestergaard is a fantastic leader in the GSE industry. His legacy is defined by nearly 50 years of dedication to the GSE industry and his lifelong mission to make it safer, smarter and more efficient. He has developed innovations such as the Rollertrack Conveyor reducing ramp injuries by up to 50%. Handlers across the world report that Power Stow equipment has spared them injuries and extended their careers.”

The Lifetime Achievement Award is presented to a long-serving industry leader whose passion, professionalism, and ability to bring out the best in their people have significantly enhanced the reputation of ground handling. The nominee may have worked for airlines, GSPs, airports, or suppliers—what matters is the tangible improvement across safety, service quality and innovation the person unleashed on the apron. Nominees must have worked in aviation for at least 30 years.
