Power Stow Tail Loader extends ergonomic baggage handling to the rear of the belt

Ground Support Worldwide recently spoke with Christian Søeberg, CCO of Power Stow, about the latest developments around the Tail Loader and how the solution helps reduce manual handling at the rear end of the belt loader

Mounted at the rear of the Rollertrack Conveyor, the Tail Loader bridges the gap between the belt loader and baggage carts or ULDs. This allows operators to pull or slide baggage onto the conveyor instead of repeatedly lifting, twisting and tossing bags.

As Christian explains in the article, the Tail Loader was developed to address a part of the operation where there is still significant physical strain:

“The benefit for the handler is definitely the ease of his work.”
– Christian Søeberg

The article also highlights an important development for existing Power Stow customers: the Tail Loader can now be retrofitted to existing Rollertrack units, making it possible to improve ergonomics and operational efficiency without replacing the current equipment.

Together, the Rollertrack Conveyor inside the aircraft hold and the Tail Loader at the rear end support a more continuous, semi-automated baggage handling process around the aircraft.

“We realized at the rear end there is a significant work risk. Now with this product we have an end-to-end solution.”
– Christian Søeberg

The Tail Loader is already in use at several locations, with further trials and deployments underway across Europe.
